Oak Group and Total Warranty Services Form Strategic Alliance


ELMHURST, Ill. – Oak Group (Oak) and Total Warranty Services (TWS) are pleased to announce the formation of a strategic alliance.

The partnership will bring together the stability, infrastructure and long-standing history of Oak’s finance and insurance business with TWS’s agility, innovation and full suite of reinsured products. Eric Peterson, Executive Vice President of Oak and an associate since 1998, will continue to lead sales operations. Peter Shiakallis, Executive Vice President of Sales and an associate since 1992, will continue to lead the indirect sales channel, Administration Marketing Services, and Marty Stockhausen will continue in his role as CFO.

Oak Group was founded in 1975. Since that time, the Oak field force has led the industry in F&I consulting and profit improvement.

Already a leader in the reinsurance space, Oak will leverage TWS’s cutting edge expertise to bring additional value to its dealers and agents. In addition, both companies are leaders in the Lifetime Warranty business. The combined volume of both organizations will make this one of the largest distribution channels for these programs in the country. Finally, both companies are skilled in bringing products to market with the speed and flexibility that the dealer market demands. This capability will be greatly enhanced though the partnership.

There are many different types of products in the Theft category. Which ones do you support and why?

We support two types of Theft Programs. The first program is our DNA program. It is a permanent tamper resistant label for major body panels of the vehicle. If removed it leaves an image of identification number viewable only with UV light. This system is complete with a warning label for the driver and passenger windows. This is a very clean and easy to install product, in minutes a vehicle is completed. There are no inventory issues, and it is very cost effective to have it preinstalled.

The second type of program we offer is an acid and stencil application for all glass panels of the vehicle, including warning decals for driver and passenger side windows. It too is very easy to install and time efficient. The cost of doing a clients inventory is nominal. These are low cost products with high penetrations. They will build customer retention for your clients.

Which type of theft products do you not support and why?

I like the benefits of our theft products for our clients. They are easy to understand and install, cost effective, and they build customer retention for future sales. This is not just a product to sell, it is a dealership culture. It is a system that from sales to service everyone in the dealership is on board and all will benefit .

In which circumstances do you encourage dealers to sell each type of theft product?

It is the dealer’s choice in which theft system fits their culture. I will say our DNA system is very popular. Its appearance and protection is something the end user can see and get a good feeling.

How does the future look for theft products in the F&I suite and which type of theft products do you believe will be the most successful?

The future is bright for Theft products. There is a real value in the product with the price of vehicles, the cost of insurance, and a benefit if the vehicle is stolen. If you believe in the system, do the proper training, and get support from your provider the dealer will be successful.

Oak Group to Use F&I Admin’s SCS Auto Platform


CHICAGO – F&I Administration Solutions, LLC, has signed Oak Services, Inc., its fifth new customer in five months.

Oak Services, based in Elmhurst, Ill., operates as Oak Group and AMS (Administrative Marketing Services) and is a provider of dealer F&I products and services. Oak Group will be using F&I Admin’s SCS Auto platform to handle the administration of products such as GAP, etch and limited warranty.

“The future of this industry requires providers to be highly efficient in the administration of their F&I products and at the same time to be electronically connected to their dealers,” said John Peterson, president of Oak Group. “F&I Admin delivers on both of these requirements. For growing businesses like ours, it makes logical and economical sense to streamline the admin process with their comprehensive solution.”

SCS Auto is a fully integrated, web-based solution that is built for automotive aftermarket product and service providers to automate and streamline the F&I product administration process. SCS Auto GAP is the only commercially available system specifically designed to support GAP and similar products.

The SCS Auto suite is also designed to support the administration of vehicle service contracts, prepaid maintenance, appearance protection and more. In addition to enabling the complete administration of these products, SCS Auto is also broadly connected to other service providers in the industry, including nine menu systems, parts databases, accounting systems and a state-of-the-art credit card solution for the efficient payment of claims.
